11/19-21/10 Southern Import Slam @ Lakeland

Lakeland Dragstrip teamed up with its collaborators to stage an unprecedented event for Imports in Florida. A total of $20,000.00 dollars were awarded to winners in The Southern Import Slam. Four days of action started with a Test & Tune on Thursday Nov 18. We enjoyed side by side racing, nonstop adrenaline when the best of the best raced against each other in 4 classes for Rotary and Piston Compacts and one class for Street Bikes, Judgment Day for all racers.

Some of the fast guys in the Quick 16, Rafael Rivera’s Rafaelito Mech-Tech RX-8 was awarded with a special recognition as one of the pioneers in Rotary Imports. Also Lucimar, New Grillete, Doña Alicia, Pimar Racing La Licenciado, Tossas Racing, Dream Machine, Kilo King of Kings, Jerry Racing, Rosado Racing, Delirium Motorsports, La Heavyweight, among many, many others. This class was awarded with $10,000.00 in cash, $5,000.00 for the winner, $2,500.00 for runner up and $1,250.00 3^rd place and $1,250 4^th place.

Super Pro class featured all import cars running 5.99 seconds or faster and awarded the four top finalists with $4,200.00 in cash, $2,125.00 1^st, $1,125.00 2^nd, $600.00 3^rd. and $350.00 4^thThe Pro class is for import cars running in the 6.00 to 7.99 seconds paying the finalists with $3,050.00 in cash; $1,600.00 for the winner, $850.00 for runner up, $350.00 3^rd and $250.00 4^th. Street Class is for all cars, imports and domestics, running 8.00 seconds or more, no electronics, with $ 1,125.00 in cash and will award the finalists with $550.00 for 1^st place, $275.00 2^nd. $175.00 3^rd. and $125.00 4^th.

The Street Bikes awarded with $ 1,125.00 in cash and the finalists with $550.00 for 1^st place, $275.00 2^nd. $175.00 3^rd. and $125.00 4^th. Scooters Class is for 13 years and up and Kid class is for 8 to 12 years with 100% payback.
