PALM BEACH AND MEMPHIS RACEWAY OWNERSHIP GROUP

ACQUIRES INTERNATIONAL HOT ROD ASSOCIATION® (IHRA)

Jupiter, Fla. (January 29, 2013) – IHRA Entertainment, LLC, a newly formed corporation held by the ownership group of Palm Beach International Raceway™ and Memphis International Raceway™, announced today its acquisition of the International Hot Rod Association® (IHRA), which was majority-owned by Feld Motor Sports®, a division of Feld Entertainment, Inc. The new ownership group will immediately take over management of the 43 year old organization and operate as IHRA Motorsports™.

The acquisition includes 100 percent of the IHRA assets, including the sanctioning body, the Nitro Jam® series, the Thunder Jam® series, the Summit® Pro Am series, the Summit® Super Series program and Drag Review Magazine®.

The ownership group is led by managing partners, Michael Dezer of Dezer Properties and Joseph Lubeck of Landmark Apartment Trust of America, Inc., Edward Kobel of DeBartolo Development, and Jason Rittenberry, President & CEO of the parent company. In 2008, the group purchased the former Moroso Motorsports Park and have since invested over $30 million in the redevelopment of the multi-track venue in Jupiter, Florida. In 2011, they acquired the former Memphis Motorsports Park from Dover Motorsports, Inc. (NYSE: DVD).

Rittenberry will serve as Chief Executive Officer of IHRA Motorsports, while Aaron Polburn will remain as President and General Manager, and Skooter Peaco will continue as Vice President of Race Operations. IHRA Motorsports will continue operations at their Norwalk, Ohio headquarters, and maintain the management team, sponsor partners and sanctioned track partners.

The 2013 IHRA schedule previously announced will remain in place with the Summit® Racing Equipment World Finals for all IHRA categories being held at the Company’s Memphis International Raceway™. Several events will be added to the Nitro Jam® schedule, including a return to the Company’s Palm Beach International Raceway™.

“Today is a landmark day for our Company, the ownership group and the IHRA,” said Jason Rittenberry, CEO of IHRA Entertainment. “IHRA has shown that their entertainment business model is viable and the company can grow. We want to build on the foundation that IHRA has built over the past 40 years and provide the structure and resources it needs to be successful long term in this new motorsports environment.”

“This is a very exciting time for IHRA. We now have a team whose total focus is on IHRA, Nitro Jam® and Thunder Jam®,” said Aaron Polburn, President & General Manager of IHRA Motorsports. “These are incredibly successful guys who will bring a unique vision along with the resources to grow all facets of our business. They are also “car guys” who have a passion for all forms of motorsports. That is a combination that will serve us well in the coming years. This is a great time to be an IHRA fan, racer, sponsor or member track.”

“Our business has evolved to focus more on other Feld Motor Sports productions like Monster Jam® and Nuclear Cowboyz®, so we are pleased that IHRA’s new owners will be able to expand its offerings and maintain the high event quality for which the brand is known,” saidCharlie Mancuso, President of Feld Motor Sports.

IHRA Motorsports currently sanctions over 100 drag racing venues in six divisions throughout the United States and Canada and has over 12,000 racer members. They promote two national series – Nitro Jam® and Thunder Jam®. The Company also owns and publishes Drag Review Magazine®, a monthly full color magazine covering the IHRA events, racers, partners and tracks.

For the acquisition of IHRA Motorsports, Murray D. Schwartz, Esq. served as outside legal counsel for IHRA Entertainment, LLC and Michael F. Rogers, Esq., Gardere Wynne Sewell, LLP served as outside legal counsel to Feld Entertainment, Inc. Foros Group acted as financial advisor to Feld Entertainment, Inc.

Mech Tech continuously pumps out a fleet of the fastest drag cars in the world built in house at their training institutes and is celebrating the opening of their newest state of the art campus in Orlando, FL. When Mech Tech decided to sponsor a class it was a natural progression to put their name on the newly formed Outlaw Extreme vs Extreme Import class complimenting their seasoned track record world record shattering cars. The Outlaw Extreme vs Extreme Import class combines the fastest of the fast into one marquee competition grouping both the Radial vs Modified and Extreme vs Outlaw together for a showdown of the low 7/high 6 second cars. In response to an overwhelming request from NDIMA fans and racers a new 12.50 Index class will be introduced at the September 16th event. Matchups in the 12.50 class will feature everything from high end street cars to grassroots projects handbuilt to see what they can do. It’s an interesting contrast to witness a 6 figure street car come up against a frankenstein project built on pure sweat equity and see which one has the consistency and quality to get there first. The 1/8th mile racers also made their desires known and we’ve answered with a run what ya brung ⅛’th mile class wide open for a wild competition. It’s a tire class with the only limitation being a 28×10.5” max slick size or any size radial permitted. All you domestic guys that stayed home in July have a good reason and a good payout to show up for in September. Time to show the imports what generations of experience can do on the drag strip.

NDIMA welcomes reggaeton singer and actor Don Omar to our next event September 16th. Not only is he one of the most recognizable faces in reggaeton, but he shares a passion for drag racing at a high level. After hearing about the upcoming NDIMA event “The Last Don” made room in his busy schedule to bring his 2JZ powered Celica and is staged to put a 200mph trap on the boards impressing fans and racers alike. All of the above updates are in addition to the already highly contested Domestic vs Import battles at NDIMA. Get there early on Sunday, September 16th catch all the the action with qualifying starting at 10AM, eliminations at 2PM and a car show and vendor midway all day long providing endless entertainment for the whole family. See you there!!

The world renowned Shakedown At E Town is growing and heading South to Palm Beach International Raceway for another saga in this races illustrious history giving the southern 1/8th mile track the spirit of it’s New Jersey Big Brothers reputation of being the quickest and Fastest Drag Race in History a chance to do it in sunny Florida all over on the weekend of March 4th and 5th 2011.
After a hugely successful 2010 Shakedown At E Town, no one can deny that the numbers from the north have been set again in the annals of history and now Dave Hance and New York Motorsports have created this new “Southern Shakedown” to enhance this awesome experience only found in the northern area for the last nine years. Soon to come will be the Classes, Rules, guided information, payouts and more to complete this Official Page.

PRO MOD VETERAN JENKINS TOPS SHAKEDOWN WINNERS LIST

JUPITER, Fla. — Eager young student Rickie Jones scored exceptionally high marks in his Pro Modified debut. But in the end, his wise, experienced teacher, Shannon Jenkins, showed him how to solve the eighth-mile winning equation March 6 at the inaugural Shakedown at Palm Beach.

Joining Jenkins in the winners circle at Palm Beach International Raceway were Danny Lowry (Outlaw 10.5), Scotty Gaudagno (Drag Radial / Limited Street), Bruno Massel (Pro Import), Ronnie Wilson (X275), and Ron Procopio (Pro Drag Bike).

Jenkins (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) tutored Jones (Galesburg, Ill.), the former NHRA Pro Stocker who helped his father, Rick Jones, build Jenkins’ new ’68 Camaro. Jenkins traded driving pointers for technology support, and Jones proved to be a keen listener. He grabbed the No. 1 qualifying position from Jenkins Friday night by one-thousandth of a second, but Jenkins beat him handily in the final round Sunday with a 4.150-second elapsed time to Jones’ 5.421.

It was a valuable lesson for Jones, who earned $3,000, while Jenkins received a $10,000 winner’s check.

This race is a Southern spin-off of New York Motorsports, Inc. owner Dave Hance’s popular, nine-year-old Shakedown at E-Town outlaw drag-racing classic that takes place in October at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park at Englishtown, N.J. Hance’s timing with the Shakedown at Palm Beach was perfect, as the majority of drivers were eager to set up and test their cars in preparation for season-openers in their various sanctioning bodies.

Pro Modified driver Mike Knowles, of Grand Junction, Colo., said, “This race is going to really grow. I’ve already heard a few people say, ‘Dang it — I should have come there!’ It’s going to be a big race. I would imagine this race will probably double next year.”

Danny Lowry, of Griffin, Ga., used a nearly perfect reaction time (.004 of a second, compared to a perfect .000) to win the Outlaw 10.5 class trophy and $10,000 of the class’ $18,000 purse. Lowry’s holeshot victory came over Wareham, Mass., resident Scott Filkins, who recorded a quicker 4..283-second elapsed time against Lowry’s 4.339.

Gaudagno’s triumph in Drag Radial / Limited Street sparked a bit of nostalgia. He raced with Hance back in the days when the two New Yorkers could afford to eat only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. At PBIR, Brooklyn native Gaudagno was a winner at the event buddy Hance was promoting.

After pocketing the $5,000 winner’s payout, Gaudagno can afford to stock his pantry with something more enticing than peanut butter and jelly. He earned it on a holeshot in the final round over Steve Jackson, of Martinez, Ga., using a .066-second light at the starting line in his 2002 Chevy to Jackson’s .121 in his ’93 Mustang. That translated to a winning 4..535-second, 158.61-mph pass over Jackson’s quicker and considerably faster 4.483 / 173.09. Jackson took home $2,000.

On a whim, Massel entered the Shakedown at Palm Beach in between a couple of assignments in his other two jobs: television and modeling. The 2009 National Hot Rod Association Competition Eliminator class champion was at Tampa the week before, taping of his SPEED TV show “TruckU.” The Woodridge, Ill., racer also had an upcoming photo shoot at Miamis’s South Beach, modeling Brazilian swimwear.

Massel is $5,000 richer for the decision, which also gave new sponsor Autogeek.net a boost. Driving his ECOtec-powered Chevy Cobalt and winning from the No. 1 spot, Massel registered a 4.524-second, 157.19-mph performance.
