New NASCAR Diversity Motorsports Racing, Racing For Education

Diversity Motorsports Racing, LLC in partnership with the Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Preservation Institute, Inc (MMB Institute), presents Racing For Education, a new NASCAR Nationwide Series racing organization.
Racing For Education, LLC is a joint venture founded by Mr. Terrance Alton Cox III, industrialist and co-owner of Diversity Motorsports Racing; and Dr. Evelyn Bethune, President of the MMB Institute.
It is a global enterprise with the vision of bringing awareness and financial support to the need of education around the world. As Mr. Cox says, “I think we all understand that higher education is a common goal for every country around the globe…that all children should be Racing For Education.”
Racing For Education obviously starts with a race car on a NASCAR Nationwide Series track but evolves quickly into the development of a national brand and the weaving of various constituencies into a network of concerned Americans dedicated to assuring access to higher education for those less fortunate.
Racing For Education brings an opportunity for the Historically Black Colleges & Universities (“HBCU”s); the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (“HACU”s), and other colleges and universities across the country to develop a funding stream that is not subject to the political climate. Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is quoted as saying: “Education is the key to freedom and knowledge is the prime need of the hour.” If that is true, then the opportunity for a quality education cannot be diminished by lack of funding. All people deserve a chance to achieve at the highest levels, no matter their circumstance or economic status. Both of these organizations, the HBCUs and HACUs, provide access to higher education that for many may only be a dream. In these precarious economic times, funding for education at all levels is being cut by city, county, state and Federal governments. Both of these two groups must develop diverse and creative out-of-the-box methods of funding that are available no matter what the circumstances are. The vision of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is still the same. Racing For Education, LLC is just a fresh new approach of providing the resources needed to help make that vision a reality.
Racing For Education, LLC founded in North Carolina, started as an initiative and developed into a campaign to provide supplemental funding for our schools and students derived from the exciting and dynamic platform of motor racing in the NASCAR Nationwide series of events. Its vision is to attract fans and supporters from NASCAR and the motorsports racing world; and from all students, parents and supporters of education, starting with elementary schools all up through college.
